Artsy Athiya

Hello ladies, Janine here; it is great to be back with Fascinating Fridays scouting for those wonderful artists who are so abundant in the UAE.  Wishing you all a happy Friday and a wonderful relaxing Saturday.  To start your weekend off with some eye candy allow me to introduce to you to a very versatile artist Athiya Nazreen.

Athiya is from Chennai, South India.and has been residing in Dubai for the past 10 years.  Athiya is a soft spoken versatile artist but do not let that soft demeanor fool you, her work will astound you! Here is what she had to say during our interview.

1. Describe yourself as an artist.
I am a landscape artist, I love to paint sceneries, and any other type of arts. I recently became involved with clay modeling, paper crafts and silk painting.

2. What is your favourite type of creativity?
I  would like to learn different types of arts and my favorite type of creativity is 3D canvas painting and making life-like clay flowers.

3. When and where do you typically sit down and create?
I usually create art pieces late at night, and I sit in my art & craft room and create till early hours of the morning. 
4. Who and what inspires you?
...from my childhood, I loved to paint and do creative things. In my home town, famous landscape artist S.B. Eswaran was my neighbor and when my mother came to know about him, she took me to his home and I was dazzled  by his beautiful paintings and that inspired me to start my art journey.

5. What are your favourite tools to create with?
Acrylic colors & brushes, canvas, air dry clay & clay craft tools.

6. Do you teach and share your talent?
Yes, I do teach to those interested to learn arts & craft.

7. What is your opinion on the artistic / creative community in Dubai?

Dubai is a very good place for creative art & showcasing unique collections.

8. How do you plan to grow and expand your creativity?
I have a plan to exhibit my creations and I love to create peaceful and lovely natural sceneries

9. Have you ever sold your works of art?
Yes, when I was in India. 

10. Where to from here? Tell us about your future plans.
I love to create more unique collections of art pieces and would like to start an art center, and exhibit.
