Feature 101: Broken Treasures

CONDOLENCE
{we belong to Allah, and unto Him we return} Al Baqarah, Holy Quran: 156
On the sad demise of my grandfather (mom's uncle) we express our heartfelt sympathy to his family, relatives  and friends. We pray to the Lord of worlds: Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful to grant him and all Muslims His paradise... Ameen

Our spotlight today is Elizabeth Mindeman; a crafter with unique style, a cute blog and a super sweet personality!!! She's a creative member of CTMH and other inspiring design teams for her exquisite touch.. Lets introduce you to a new friend of fascinating Fridays:
Name: Elizabeth Mindemann

1. Tell us a little about yourself and your family.
I met my husband in college and we will be married ten years in November.  We have three children. Caleb is six (will be seven the end of August), Joshua is five and Annalee is three.  I love my family they are my "why".

2. How and when did you start crafting?
I began crafting the moment my parents gave me a coloring book and some crayons as a little girl.  My room was always a mess with scraps of paper and all sorts of items that could be used to create something.  I started scrapbooking when I was in high school.  I never really made very many cards until two years ago when I joined Close To My Heart, a stamping and scrapbooking company.  Now I love to make cards and small gifts and really love stamping!

3. From where do you draw your inspiration?
All around me - colors in the flowers, paintings, fashion.  I am a huge pinterest fan and while I find a lot of inspiration on pinterest I usually search the web for blog posts first - there is just so much creativity out there.  Sometimes I just get an idea in my head and make it but that is rare - I usually have to see something first and then recreate it as my own :)

4. How would you describe your style?
Mostly clean and simple.  I have always been that type of girl from make up to the way I dress.  It only makes sense that clean and simple would then be my crafting style too :)  Not big on lace and frills but you might see some here and there in my work.

5. What are the 5 top tools in your crafting space?
Stamps, ink, Cricut, paper trimmer, sewing machine

6. What’s your favorite technique?
Generational stamping.  I like to create depth and interest with stamps and stamping once (first generation) and then again (second generation) without inking up is a go to technique for me.  I also really like using 3D foam tape to pop sections of my cards and pages up - fussy cutting is fun too.  Oh and I love to color in images - I always have.

7. What are your go-to colors?
Cool colors usually greens, blues, purples but I love color pops of brights.  Probably my least favorite color is pink (my daughter's favorite go figure) but I don't use a ton of pastels so a bright pink will show up in my artwork before a pale one will :)

8. Do you sell your projects?
Yes I go to craft fairs and vendor shows and sell mostly my cards.  I also sell kits that I design.  Most of my creations get given as gifts.  I don't have an etsy store or anything like that.

9. What do you do when you aren’t crafting? Job? Other hobbies and interests?
Is there life outside of crafting ;)  just kidding.  I love to garden, arrange flowers, read, cook, play games, surf pinterest, watch movies and really anything crafty has my attention.

10. Are you currently designing for any blog?
Yes I am on the Design Team for Scrapping Everyday Miracles and help to run the Crafty Chicks Blog Hop.  I was also just hired to teach on-line classes with Scrapbook News and Reviews but haven't really set a date for a class yet.  My sister just had her baby seven weeks early and my grandmother had a stroke so my personal life has required a lot more of my attention lately.  I hope to get a class started the end of the summer or in the fall.

Spectacular!! I'm swooning over these eclectic creations.. They are just done masterfully and with a big huge love :) Thanks dearie for giving us the chance to know you better and wishing you a prosperous life ahead!! Regards to our sincere followers and stay tuned for more artists,,,
